I. Services Provided

Koyonari is a daily life application situated within Eastern temporal cycles. The Services generate slips, cultural interpretations, and daily action suggestions from deterministic rules of traditional calendars (lunar calendar, sexagenary cycle / Ganzhi, 24 solar terms, 12 double-hours / Shichen, moon phases, etc.) and from the casting method and input you choose (the moment, text, numbers, coins, and so on), alongside providing features such as records, seal stamping, reflections, favorites, sharing, reminders, astronomical and orientation displays, and a knowledge base. We also offer Readings (generated by AI), cloud synchronization and backup, memberships, and digital content, and may offer physical merchandise. The specific scope of features is subject to actual availability and may vary across regions, platforms, and versions.

II. Nature of Content and Important Disclaimers

• Koyonari provides cultural appreciation of traditional calendars and symbolism along with suggestions for daily action; it does not constitute a basis for prophecy, diagnosis, or decision-making.
• The Services offer perspectives and possible paths; how any matter turns out depends on your own judgment and actions, and we make no promise or guarantee about its outcome.
• For major matters concerning health and medical care, investments and finance, legal rights, or personal safety, please consult appropriately qualified professionals. No content within the Services should serve as a basis for such decisions.
• Action suggestions are for reference only. Please evaluate weather, environment, physical condition, and safety factors independently before acting; outdoor and parent-child activities must have safety verified by adults.
• Information such as orientation, astronomical data, and route distances is derived from device sensors, public datasets, or your manual settings and may contain inaccuracies. It is provided solely for cultural presentation and reference, and is not suitable for navigation, measurement, or safety-critical uses. The Services do not measure magnetic fields or energies.

III. Readings

• A Reading brings together the original text of this slip's hexagram and lines, the double-hour and solar term when it was drawn, and the question you wrote, and offers a perspective, paths you might take and one step for today. To produce it, Koyonari passes your question, this slip's hexagram and lines, Three for today, earlier turns in the same conversation, and any note or photos you include to a third-party language model, which generates the answer under rules Koyonari has set. The calendar and hexagram are computed by deterministic algorithms; the model does not take part in or alter those results.
• The text of a reading is generated by the model. Each answer's data carries a record of its origin, and quotations trace back to their sources. Read it against your own circumstances.
• Do not enter other people's private information, or unlawful or infringing content, into Readings.
• Readings include a daily allowance of free questions; members also receive a monthly allowance, and additional questions may be purchased. Questions are counted in this order: the day's free questions, the member's questions for the month, then purchased questions. Details are set out in Section VI and the in-app description.
• Readings are for users aged 18 and over.

IV. Accounts

• Basic features of the Services can be used without signing in. You may choose to sign in via email, Apple, Google, or other supported methods in the future to save, synchronize, and restore your records with your account, or to access services such as memberships.
• Please safeguard your login credentials carefully and take responsibility for all activities conducted through your account. If you discover unauthorized use of your account, please contact us promptly.
• You may delete your account from within the App at any time. Upon deletion, your account and all data saved with it will be purged and cannot be recovered; paid benefits still within their validity period will be handled in accordance with Section VI.
• If you breach these Terms or applicable laws, we may restrict features, or suspend or terminate your use of your account, depending on the circumstances.

V. User Content and Sharing

• Texts you write, photos and voice recordings you add, and other records created within the Services ("User Content") remain your property.
• To provide you with storage, synchronization, backup, display, and sharing features, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, process, and transmit your User Content strictly within the scope required to deliver the Services. This license terminates when you delete the corresponding content or your account, except for portions you have already publicly shared.
• For reading card images or public links that you actively share, you determine their dissemination scope and bear responsibility for their content. Please ensure that your content does not infringe upon the rights of others and contains no unlawful material.
• We do not use the contents of your records for advertising. For details on how we handle personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy (https://koyonari.com/privacy/).

VI. Paid Services

• The basic features of the Services are provided free of charge. Paid services are memberships (Koyonari Plus and Koyonari Pro) and question packs, and we may add other digital content later. Prices and what each includes are shown on the purchase screen; prices include applicable tax and follow what the App Store or Google Play displays.
• Memberships: A membership renews automatically for the term you choose (monthly or yearly). The first payment is charged when you confirm the subscription, or at the end of the free trial if there is one. After that, the App Store or Google Play charges and renews at the end of each term. To stop renewal, cancel in the store's subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current term ends; you keep the membership until that term ends. The monthly questions included in a membership reset on the 1st of each month in your account's time zone, yearly plans included; unused questions do not carry over and cannot be exchanged for cash. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
• Membership content: Koyonari Plus includes 100 questions per month; photo attachments in questions; Koyonari translations and notes for every classic; almanac notes, sky events and the sundial for any date on This Day; and priority during peak times. Koyonari Pro includes everything in Koyonari Plus, with 300 questions per month and a deeper reading every time. The membership page in the app lists the current content and is updated when content is added.
• Free trial: Your first Koyonari Plus subscription starts with a 7-day free trial, once per Apple ID or Google account. No charge applies if you cancel during the trial.
• Question packs: Purchased questions are added as soon as the purchase completes and do not expire. They cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, and a completed purchase cannot be withdrawn. Members and non-members pay the same price.
• Cancellation and refunds: The App Store and Google Play handle subscription cancellations and refunds under their own rules; please use the store you bought from. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription, so cancel in the store first. When an account is deleted, its membership and any unused questions are forfeited.
• Memberships and purchased questions belong to your account and may be used on any device signed in to that account. They are for your personal use within the Services and may not be transferred, resold, or leased.
• The content of paid services may adjust across app versions. If we terminate a paid service, advance notice will be provided, and any remaining entitlements will be handled in accordance with applicable laws and platform policies.

VII. Physical Merchandise

We may sell physical merchandise related to Koyonari (such as card decks, compasses, almanacs, etc.). Pricing, specifications, shipping, and returns will be governed by the purchase page and the specific terms of sale published at that time; your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

VIII. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise specified, intellectual property rights in the names, logos, compass dials, UI designs, texts, content libraries, sounds, graphics, font designs, and software of the Services belong to us or our licensors. Reproduction, adaptation, distribution, public display, or commercial use without prior written authorization is prohibited. Open-source components and fonts utilized in the Services are provided under their respective licenses.

IX. Acceptable Use Guidelines

When using the Services, you shall not:

• Violate laws and regulations of your jurisdiction, or use the Services to engage in unlawful activities;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or use automated means to scrape or access the Services and their content libraries in bulk;
• Interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of the Services, servers, or networks, or circumvent usage restrictions and security controls;
• Impersonate any person or entity, or access another person's account and data without authorization;
• Package content of the Services to charge third parties under the guise of paid fortune-telling, divination, or superstitious catastrophe-averting services;
• Disseminate unlawful, infringing, harassing, or deceptive content through sharing or other features.

X. Beta and Experimental Features

We may provide certain features in closed beta, public beta, or experimental formats. Beta features may be unstable, and their content and data formats may change or be discontinued. Please regularly export backups within the App; while we endeavor to safeguard your data, we cannot guarantee the uncompromised integrity of data during beta testing phases.

XI. Third-Party Services

The Services may incorporate services or links provided by third parties, such as account sign-in, application stores, payment gateways, mapping services, and astronomical datasets. When you utilize these services, you must also abide by the applicable terms and policies of those third parties; the availability and content of third-party services are the responsibility of their respective providers.

XII. Changes, Suspension, and Termination of Services

We may introduce, modify, suspend, or terminate all or part of the Services based on product planning and operational requirements. In the event of material changes impacting your data or paid entitlements, we will provide advance notice within the App or on this website and allow a reasonable time window for you to export your data.

XIII. Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided on an "AS IS" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from decisions or actions taken in reliance on content within the Services (including AI-generated content), nor for losses caused by force majeure, network or device failures, or third-party service interruptions; our total liability shall be capped at the fees you actually paid for the relevant services in the preceding twelve months. Where losses are caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise, such mandatory provisions shall prevail.

XIV. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing which, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance. Where mandatory statutory provisions provide otherwise for consumers under applicable law, such mandatory provisions shall prevail.

XV. Updates to Terms and Contact Information

These Terms may be updated alongside new feature releases and legal requirements, and updates will be posted on this page; for modifications affecting your significant rights, we will provide advance notice via the App or email. Continued use of the Services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
